We don’t run our plantation in the conventional way either. For us, the Balsa tree starts its life as a nursing crop to rejuvenate the most degraded lands across East Indonesian islands. All the needed natural elements come together in this process to grow high-quality, low-density Balsa.
Once our Balsa has revived the degraded landscape, we harvest and replant with permanent forest, before moving on to the next site for restoration. This way, we build forests while doing business and help fight the huge issue of deforestation worldwide.
